Video on the Mojave Desert Tortoise: Decoding a Genome

For this project, we went out with School of Life Sciences and U.S. Geological researchers to the Mojave Desert to find tortoises they have been tracking. Interviews were done in the field and back at Tempe campus capturing the work being done by this team. This video accompanied an ASU News story about how the team has decoded the animal’s genome for the first time, and what implications this has for conserving the species.
